Air pollution has been an issue some years ago. The production of particulate pollutants (PP) as a direct impact on the health of people, mainly those with no completely effective respiratory system, such as children, people with respiratory problems, elderly, etc. Medellin is no exception in this problem.

Nowadays, Medellín is the city with the most polluted air in the country, followed by Bogotá. We have, however, atmospheric and biological factors that can help us. The sun in the day allows processes such as photosynthesis in plants, helping to raise the PP particles toward the north winds. Our body also has a great system of protection, filtering very small particles such as PP10, not to come into our body. What is our concern? PP2.5 particles, unlike PP10, are so extremely small that e,en our filtration system is deficient to this threat. In one year, only motorbikes and trucks produce more than 800 tons of particulate matter PP2.5, killing thousands of people from lung diseases. Our air is ceasing to be life, and is becoming the poison that slowly kills us.
